EXPERIMENT NO. 001

Make something elemental.

Pour, build, melt. See what happens when elements meet.

Too much liquid can crash the game. Adding large amounts of water, lava, or molten metal may cause lag, freezing, or a browser-tab crash. Use smaller pours and erase liquid or press Delete everything if the game slows down.

Temperature and stored heat determine phase changes. Gold melts at 1,064 °C; silver at 962 °C. Water freezes at 0 °C and boils at 100 °C. Heat is required during a phase change, and lava has a finite heat supply. Air temperature controls cooling.

This is a simplified 2D model: transport rates are tuned for interaction; steam expansion, gas pressure, fine turbulence, fracture is not solved. Bars rotate around flat support edges and slide down diagonal surfaces; collisions use a pixel approximation. Unsupported, connected cobblestone falls as a chunk; solidified metal and ice keep connected shapes as they move. Liquid velocity and pressure are solved on a staggered grid; material moves locally with sub-pixel rendering. Rock uses one approximate basalt-like melting threshold (1,100 °C), rather than a mineral melting range.

Cement is a sandbox building material: water turns powder into wet cement. After 5 seconds without contact with free water, it hardens and anchors permanently—even in midair. Use Freeze solids while building, then unfreeze; hardened cement stays fixed. Erase it to remove it.

Freeze solids locks gold, silver, cobblestone and ice in place. Liquids and heat continue; melted material can flow. Click Unfreeze solids to restore gravity.
